Diego Berdakin is a successful entrepreneur best known as the co-founder of BeachMint, a social commerce company he founded in 2010 with MySpace co-founder Josh Berman. BeachMint quickly gained popularity for its innovative approach to personalized shopping, partnering with Hollywood celebrities like Kate Bosworth, Rachel Bilson, Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, and Justin Timberlake.1
Berdakin began his career as a serial entrepreneur, starting several small online companies while studying political science at Northwestern University. After graduation, he founded a technology incubator called MD Capital and worked at Slingshot Labs, an online business incubator owned by News Corp.1
In 2010, Berdakin co-founded BeachMint with Josh Berman. The company attracted over $23 million in funding and grew to around 85 employees. In 2014, Conde Nast acquired majority ownership of BeachMint and merged it with Lucky magazine to form The Lucky Group.12
Berdakin is also an active investor, supporting and mentoring several startups in Los Angeles. He has invested in notable companies like Ring.com, Dropbox, Nest, and Postmates.2 Additionally, Berdakin serves as an adjunct professor at the University of Southern California's School of Cinematic Arts, where he teaches courses on merging cinema and business.23
