Background and Career

Born and raised in Macomb, Michigan, Young is the daughter of a union carpenter and a secretary. She worked various jobs to support herself through school, eventually earning a degree in Anthropology from Oakland University. Young founded her own financial planning firm, which has grown significantly since its inception with minimal resources.123

Campaign Focus

Young's campaign emphasizes several key issues:

• Protecting Social Security and Medicare: She advocates for fully funding these programs and opposes raising the retirement age, which she believes would harm working-class families.3
