Diane Peters is an accomplished legal professional with a strong educational background. She holds a Doctor of Law (J.D.) degree from Washington University in St. Louis School of Law, where she also pursued a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Political Science and Government from Grinnell College. Her journey in academia dates back to her studies at Ames High School.

Throughout her career, Diane has been associated with various prestigious organizations in key roles. She has served as a Senior Policy Fellow at American University Washington College of Law and as the Co-Founder of the Open Covid Pledge. Previously, she held significant positions such as Director at the Software Freedom Law Center, Consultant at the Space Studies Board of the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine, General Counsel at Creative Commons, and Counsel at prominent firms like Mozilla Corporation, Ater Wynne LLP, and Andrews Kurth LLP, to name a few.

Her legal expertise and experience also extend to her past role as a Judicial Law Clerk at the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 7th Circuit. Diane Peters' contributions to the legal and policy domains reflect a deep commitment to promoting open code policies and advancing the field of law.
