Black Sisters in STEM
In June 2022, Nyamekye founded Black Sisters in STEM, an organization aimed at unleashing the global brilliance of Gen Z Black Women by reinventing their journey towards STEM-based careers.12 The organization works to address the issue of Black women dropping out of STEM majors, with a goal of supporting 1,000 Black women with $4,200 each to help with certification needs, internship stipends, conference stipends, and technology requirements.2

Nyamekye's journey is inspired by her mother's sacrifices and the challenges she faced as a Black woman in STEM.2 She recognized the systemic issues preventing many talented Black women from pursuing STEM careers and decided to create an organization to address these challenges.2
