Dhruv Batra is currently an Assistant Professor in the School of Interactive Computing at Georgia Tech and a Research Scientist at Facebook AI Research (FAIR). His research focuses on developing agents that can perceive their environment, hold natural language dialogues, interact with their surroundings, and consider the consequences of their actions.
Dhruv Batra has received several prestigious awards for his outstanding contributions to the field of research, including the Office of Naval Research (ONR) Young Investigator Program (YIP) award, the Early Career Award for Scientists and Engineers (ECASE-Army), the National Science Foundation (NSF) CAREER award, and many more. He is also a recipient of teaching commendations at Virginia Tech and has received research support from various organizations such as NSF, ARO, ARL, ONR, DARPA, Amazon, Google, Microsoft, and NVIDIA.
His educational background includes a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Machine Learning and Computer Vision from Carnegie Mellon University and a Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech.) in Electronics Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology (Banaras Hindu University), Varanasi.
