Devon Howard
Assistant Professor of Music & Department of Music Chair
Devon Howard is an accomplished musician with a rich academic background in organ performance and music theory. With degrees from Arizona State University, Codarts, Hogeschool voor de Kunsten Rotterdam, Southern Adventist University, and Columbia Union College, he has honed his skills to become the Director of Keyboard and Theory Studies at Southwestern Adventist University.
As chair of the department, he coordinates curriculum, supervises professors, manages the recital series, teaches theory courses, and instructs piano, organ, and harpsichord. His previous experiences include the roles of Director of Worship & the Arts at Kettering Seventh-day Adventist Church, Organist and Collaborative Musician at First Presbyterian Church of Boulder, and Director of Worship and Music at Victory Lutheran Church. He has also worked as a graduate teaching assistant at Arizona State University and a Fulbright Scholar at Fulbright Netherlands.
Devon Howard's expertise lies in organ performance and music theory, and his interests include piano, organ, harpsichord, and collaborative music.
