Des Speed

Des Speed is a seasoned professional with a diverse background spanning leadership, engineering, mathematics, and technology. He holds a degree in Mathematics, Statistics & Operational Research from Queen's University Belfast, where he achieved 1st Class Honours. Des furthered his education by obtaining a Master's in Manufacturing Systems Engineering with Distinction from the University of Warwick. Additionally, he pursued Leadership4Growth studies at Stanford University Graduate School of Business.

Over the course of his career, Des has held various key positions in reputable organizations. Currently, he serves as a Non-Executive Director and Chairman at Cumulus Neuroscience (formerly BrainWaveBank). Previously, he held the Chairman position at Farmvet Systems Ltd and was actively involved in the boards of QUBIS LIMITED and Catalyst Inc. Des has also served as the CEO of PathXL, Lagan Technologies, and was a mentor at Propel. His early career roles include being the Founder Director at Sx3, CIO at Northern Ireland Electricity, and IT Manager at Harland & Wolff. He also worked in consulting, sales, and business systems roles at ICL Fujitsu and Short Brothers.
