Legal Structure Programme - Group Functions IT Subsidirisation - Cutover Manager

Phase One of the Legal Segregation Programme, the setting up and establishment of a NEW standalone Finnish Mortgage Bank, to assist in the conversion of the standalone Finnish Legal Bank entity to becoming a branch of Nordea Bank AB (Sweden)•	Management of the migration of 380,000 Retail mortgages from Nordea Bank Finland to the new Mortgage Credit Institution (MCI), including all related IT and changes across four business lines.Assets transferred included the associated Covered Bonds, and underlying swaps, caps and collars. Total value of mortgages being Euro 26.4 bn. •	Management of all RAID Logs. Reporting to Senior Executives on progress vs Plan.•	Management of all trading data migration, reference data migration, client data migration and staff data, from the old legal entity to the new standalone entityPlanning and documenting migration / cutover Run Books•	The programme had to be completed within strict legal and operational timeframes, (12 weeks from start to finish) involving 11 different systems across 4 countries, covering three business lines Markets Treasury, Markets ALM and Retail IT.•	All required changes were made and tested within the original 12 week timeframe, but due to not receiving the required regulatory approval, “go-live” was delayed until October 1, 2016.•	Manage of the consolidated run book, front to back for the implementation weekend, and standby of the “fix it forward” team, which was in the end not required•	“Go-Live” was successfully achieved with trouble free delivery, October 1, 2016

Legal Structure Programme Subsidiarisation - New Finnish Mortgage Bank

Retained to work on a tightly time boxed assignment at UBS to gather Business Requirements across the 5 main GALM business activity areas: Risk Exposure Management (REM), Credit and Investments (C&I), Interest Rate Risk Management Banking Book, (IRRMBB) Structural FX, and Credit and Collateral Resource Management (CCRM) a new formed division within GALM that encompassed Repo, Asset Sourcing and Origination, CD/CP Issuance, Curve Management) The remit was to consolidate and streamline all previous business requirement gathering efforts, identifying gaps, understand and document Front Office processes and requirements highlighting and defining the current deficiencies and reliance on End User Applications and Manual Processes, by meeting with Desk Heads, Business Managers, Traders & Global Heads. This involved travel to various locations to meet these objectives. Detailed and homogenised User Requirements Documents were produced per business activity. These were then used as the basis of an across GALM Matrix, with user requirements vs. the 32 operating entities,  with requirements assessed on a high, medium, low basis to show a complete “heat map” globally for GALM. Workshops conducted to document the “as-is” operating model and then these were used to start to plan out the new Target Operating Model which would be used for the new entities  Business units covered: Risk Exposure Management (REM) – CVA, FVA, DVA, XVA, KVA, Compression, Exposure Management, Default Management Credit and Investments (C&I) – Liquidity Reserves, Local Liquidity Portfolios (LLP), Group Liquidity Reserves (GLR) , LCR, LDR, NTSR, Ring-Fenced Assets, HQLA, Liquidity Buffers, OCI, Central Bank Deposits, Bonds, Repo, UFP Funding, Hedging. London WallStreet, Front Arena and Single View Programme ManagerHired to manage and co-ordinate the organised and structured move of the Nedbank Capital London Branch’s FX and MM Business onto the WallStreet System based in Johannesburg. The primary objectives of the London FX & MM Trade Migration were: i ) To create a “Centre of Excellence” in JHB with centralised:     - Operations (payments/confirmations/settlements)     - Risk Management ii)  Single view of risk throughout Nedbank iii) Efficient Liquidity management iv) Planning for expansion, i.e. future increase in volume and product complexity This programme of work involved gathering the London Front Office Business Requirements,  frequent travel to South Africa, extensive liaison and influencing of Front Office & Senior Management and coordinating several work efforts across many different teams in disparate geographical locations.Particular emphasis was needed on the on-going vendor management and also prioritisation of London specific requirements and tasks. The building and maintaining of a London Plan with adjustments of overall changes and dependencies was a major task as well a keeping accurate and timely RAID logs. - Hired by the Front Office to perform a full front to back, Global review of the Asset Back Commercial Paper (ABCP) Trading activities (and associated hedging products, including Swaps, CLN’s, FRA’s, Exchange traded Futures and Options and OTC Futures and Options), for the Amsterdam, Chicago and Sydney ABN Offices. •	Responsible for the production of the agreed project plan, and execution against this, including visiting each of the offices, organising and facilitating user workshops and documenting the current "As-Is" Business Processes and Workstreams for each location, identifying key processes, key performance indicators, and the production of supporting management reports, with regular Steering Committee updates and Management Information Reporting. •	The capture of the Global User Requirements for a new single global Consolidated ABCP Platform, and the production of the associated reports for Management. This included the final Business User Weighted Requirements Documentation, and the documentation and formalisation of an agreed consolidated, best in class “target operating model”.•	A two pronged approach was next decided upon with Tactical & Strategic Workstreams. I was charged with managing a Vendor Solution Selection Exercise, evaluating the Top 10 System Vendors in the ABCP Market and their associated ranking as “best fit” for our Weighted Business User Requirements. Responsible for contract negotiation with the vendor and the "hands on” management and delivery of the chosen solution, including day to day liaison with internal suppliers, vendors the LSE regulatory team and managing a team of 15 developers. This included 10 consecutive weekends of system testing with the LSE. Successful implementation of the fidessa suite of applications, within the mandatory LSE timeframe.
