Derek Reilly

Derek Reilly is a knowledgeable professional with expertise in the areas of mobile, immersive, and ubiquitous computer interfaces and their connection to the built environment.

His focus encompasses a range of subjects including immersive visualization, mixed reality environments, and interactive exhibits. Additionally, his passion lies in crafting technologies that aid spatial thinking in various real-world scenarios such as wayfinding, exploring, annotating, and dispatching.

He has a strong educational background, holding a PhD in Computer Science with a specialization in Human-Computer Interaction from Dalhousie University. Prior to this, he pursued a Bachelor of Education in English/Media and Computer Science from Queen's University, a BA (Hons) in Computer Science from McGill University, and a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature from Wilfrid Laurier University.

Throughout his career, Derek has held key roles in various prestigious organizations. He was a distinguished Professor at Dalhousie University and an Associate Professor at OCAD University. He also contributed as a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Georgia Institute of Technology.
