Derek Phelps

Derek Phelps is a multi-talented individual with a diverse professional background. Currently serving as a Music Copyright Researcher at Accenture, Derek is also actively engaged in music, comedy, and writing ventures.
With a solid educational foundation, Derek has pursued studies at the Banff Arts Center and holds Bachelor of Fine Arts in Jazz/Jazz Studies as well as Bachelor of Arts in the same field from Wayne State University.
Throughout his career, Derek has been associated with various organizations such as Laugh, Dammit! as a Producer, Stand-up Comedy as a Stand-up Comedian, Hard Proof and Black Joe Lewis and the Honeybears, LLC as a Trumpet player, Pro Comedy Training as a Stand-up Comedian, and Royal Caribbean as a Trumpet/Musical Director.
Derek's current projects include working on an album of songs for his Ethiopian jazz-inspired band, The Azmaris, while also dedicating time to teaching his young son the art of comedy. Stay tuned for updates on Derek's website for more exciting developments.
