Derek Hansen

Derek Hansen is a highly respected colorist based in Los Angeles with over 10 years of experience in the film industry. Hansen has worked with top directors such as Gia Coppola, Young Replicant, and Brian Buckley and has been involved in grading projects for globally recognized brands including Facebook, Lululemon, and Reebok. He has also worked on music videos for top artists like Justin Bieber, Miley Cyrus, and J. Cole. In 2019, Hansen signed with Arsenal Creative to launch a color department and built out a full-service Baselight suite capable of HDR and Dolby Vision Mastering. He has been shortlisted for AICP 2019’s Best Grade in Music Video for Janelle Monae’s ‘I Like it Like That’. His experience and knowledge extend beyond his commercial work into long-form narrative and documentary. Hansen's educational background is in Business Management and Cinema from San Francisco State University.
