Derek Dictson

Derek Dictson is the President of the New Mexico State University Foundation, overseeing alumni relations, fundraising, and managing a substantial $230 million endowment. His professional journey spans two decades in the public and private sectors, with a focus on nonprofit fundraising and management. Derek brings 17 years of experience in this field, including significant roles in higher education at Texas A&M and Auburn University. He holds a master’s degree in Public Service and Administration from Texas A&M, as well as a bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Business and Economics from NMSU. Apart from his professional endeavors, Derek engages in a distinctive hobby - serving as an international election observer for the US State Department and the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe.
