Dennis Sands is a highly experienced recording, mixing, and re-recording mixer, as well as a film score producer. He is the owner of Sound Waves SB, a studio located in Santa Barbara, California, which he has operated since August 2004.13 Sands has an extensive career in the music and film industry, having recorded and mixed more than 300 film scores, including notable works such as "Spiderman," "Forrest Gump," and "Avengers: Endgame".2
He began his career at MGM Recording Studios in 1971 and later became co-owner of Group IV Recording Studio in 1977. Throughout his career, Sands has worked on numerous jazz albums for artists like Ella Fitzgerald and Count Basie, as well as music for television shows such as "Hill Street Blues" and "Dallas".2 He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from the University of Southern California.12
Sands is also known for integrating advanced sound technologies into his work, such as the Dolby Atmos system at his Sound Waves SB facility.45 His contributions to the field have earned him four Academy Award nominations.2
