Dennis J. Shields is an accomplished higher education administrator with a diverse career spanning multiple institutions. He served as Chancellor of the University of Wisconsin-Platteville from July 2010 to July 2022.1 Currently, he holds the position of President-Chancellor of the Southern University System, which is the only system of Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) in the United States.1
