Canario is an American politician who served as a Democratic member of the Rhode Island House of Representatives, representing District 71 from 2013 to 2021.12 Prior to his tenure in the state legislature, Canario was a member of the Portsmouth Town Council from 2004 to 2010, serving as its president in 2008.1 He was also involved in community initiatives such as founding the Portsmouth Police Cadet Explorer Program and advocating for senior citizens between 1997 and 2001.1
