Dejay Clayton

Dejay Clayton is a Senior Software Engineer at Upstart, based in New York, New York. He has been with Upstart since August 2021, contributing to the improvement of software engineering processes in a pre-IPO environment. His role involves scaling engineering teams and implementing technical solutions for a platform-as-a-service focused on consumer automobile digital retail. Notably, he led a significant 14-month migration to AWS and played a key role in the implementation of compliance initiatives across various products and services.12

Clayton has a robust background in software engineering, having previously worked at Braze and CNBC. At Braze, he developed backend systems capable of processing billions of events daily. His tenure at CNBC involved leading front-end development teams and managing complex technology stacks, significantly enhancing the performance and scalability of their digital platforms.13

He holds a degree from Drexel University and is also involved in volunteer work as a technical specialist for the Boston Festival of Indie Games.1
