Deepak Singh
Deepak Singh, a former scientist turned high-tech executive, currently serves as Vice President of Compute Services at Amazon Web Services (AWS). With over thirteen years of experience at AWS, he has worked on various compute and developer products and services. Prior to joining AWS, Deepak worked in the sciences, primarily doing theoretical work and building software to study proteins and small molecules. He studied for his Master’s in Science in Chemistry at Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay, and went on to earn his Doctorate in Philosophy in Chemistry at Syracuse University.
During his career, Deepak has served on the Scientific Advisory Boards of Ensembl and GenomeSpace. Before AWS, he held various managerial and executive roles at Rosetta Biosoftware, Accelrys, and GeneFormatics where he gained a wealth of experience in product management, business development, and strategic planning.
As GM of Container Services and former Principal Product Manager for Amazon EC2, Deepak has a deep understanding of cloud computing technology and its application. With his technical and scientific background, combined with his experience in product management and business development, Deepak is highly skilled in the development and strategy of technology-based products and services.
