Deborah Schnur

Deborah Schnur is a public health professional and project manager with a strong focus on community health promotion, nutrition, food insecurity, and health equity. With a Master of Public Health (MPH) degree in Community Health Promotion from the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities, a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Mechanical Engineering also from the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities, a Master of Science (MS) in Theoretical and Applied Mechanics from Northwestern University, and a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Biomedical Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, she brings a unique multidisciplinary perspective to her work.

Prior to becoming a health educator at Riverside University Health System, Schnur was a service member at FoodCorps and a Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) intern at Second Harvest Heartland, where she gained valuable experience in promoting community health and addressing food insecurity. In her previous roles as Released Products Design Engineering Lead - Senior Staff Engineer and Far East Tribology Test Lead - Senior Staff Engineer at Seagate Technology, Schnur honed her project management and statistical data analysis skills, as well as her ability to lead international teams and develop strategic plans.

Schnur's experience living and working in Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, and China has given her a strong appreciation for cultural diversity and the value of divergent perspectives. She believes that incorporating varied viewpoints into multidisciplinary teams can fuel creativity, enhance productivity, and ultimately lead to better outcomes.
