Deborah Laurel

Deborah Laurel is a workplace learning and performance improvement trainer and consultant with over 30 years of experience.

She is the President of Laurel and Associates, Ltd., a certified woman-owned small business focusing on improving interpersonal dynamics in organizations.

Deborah is also the co-founder and Chief Learning Officer at The Peer Learning Institute, advocating for self-directed peer learning groups for management and leadership development.

With a Master's Degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, she taught management and supervisory topics at UW-Madison's School of Business for over 25 years.

Over the past 15 years, Deborah has designed engaging curricula and conducted train-the-trainer programs for various organizations including government agencies, international entities, and corporations.

She has worked with notable organizations like the United Nations, Mercy Corps, Genentech, and others on training programs globally.

Deborah consulted with J.J. Strossmeyer University in Croatia to develop the first Eastern European participant-based Master’s Degree program in Entrepreneurship.

Besides her professional work, Deborah publishes a free weekly e-zine called Laurel Learning Tips and enjoys activities like walking, reading, playing with her cat, and singing during the pandemic.

She completed her education with a Master of Arts in English Literature from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and a Bachelor's in English from Clark University.
