In order to find a career that aligns with your personality, values and interests, I use the Strong Interest Inventory and Myers Briggs Type Indicator (Personality assessment) as tools.  Together we will assess who you truly are and look at what motivates you to put together 'your' career story.  I work with high school and college students, and individuals re-entering the work force.

Labor Relations:
Conducted sensitive personnel investigations and recommended appropriate actions; interpreted collective bargaining agreements, state statutes and department and state policies; administered progressive discipline in collaboration with managers and school administrators; conduct grievance conferences with agency and union officials as well as served as a step II hearing officer and represented agency in grievance hearings, presented grievances at hearings, provided guidance to Vocational Technical School administrators in matters of labor relations; responded to Commission on Human Rights and Opportunities complaints; served as agency representative for  collective bargaining negotiation teams; advised managers and supervisors regarding labor relations issues, personnel policies and procedures, and workers compensation matters; 

Workers’ Compensation
Managed the Agency’s Workers’ Compensation program: supervised the maintenance and oversight of workers’ compensation payments, conducted employee investigations and recommended appropriate action to the agency’s Third Party Administrator and State Attorney General’s Office;  represented agency at complex workers’ compensation hearings; counseled and advised employees regarding the search for less arduous duties, rehabilitation, etc.; conducted onsite investigations to ensure OSHA compliance.  

Recruitment and Staff Development
Provide support in areas of recruitment, orientation and promotion process; compile information/research in areas such as salary surveys or turnover analysis; coordinate staff development programs; team leader for the bureau’s focus group (empowering employees through coaching techniques); Evaluated resumes and conducted employee interviews; counseled employees in areas of career development, upward mobility and various classification and benefit issues; Managed the agencies classified and unclassified recruitment efforts.

Key accomplishments:
*Coordinated and maintained wellness activities for the agency resulting in improvement in staff health and morale.  Activities included:

**Development of an ergonomics program and a workshop series which involved: Applying for and receiving grant money to fund the ergonomic program which included training staff teams to conduct ergonomic assessments; identifying most-at-risk staff members for injury, purchasing and distribution of ergonomic equipment, and training staff members on office ergonomics and prevention of injury; coordinating staff development workshops/events for department staff members.

**Coordination of a series of wellness workshops, including an agency-wide wellness fair.

**Establishing a wellness competition for the Bureau of Human Resources (Hartford and Middletown) and creation of an agency team for participation in the Hartford Corporate Classic Road Races.

*Coordinator of the Agency’s Bring Our Daughter to Work Day;

*Coordinated the development and publication of the agency and employee newsletter;

*Organized the agency’s workers’ compensation function and developed the agency’s workers’ compensation procedures, resulting in a decrease in workers’ compensation costs to the agency as well as a quicker return to work rate; trained agency’s vocational technical school business managers on workers’ compensation procedures;

*Co-created a Supervisor’s Guide to Resolving Employee Performance Problems.
