Joy Polefrone is a professional with a diverse and unique background in global corporations, start-ups, non-profits, patient support organizations, and academia. She is a strategic and intentional leader with deep expertise in culture transformation, organizational development, strategy, marketing, and product development. She is recognized for her ability to co-create solutions in complex systems and thrive in dynamic matrix environments. Polefrone studied Chemistry at James Madison University and earned a PhD in Cancer Immunology, Bioanalytical Chemistry, and Proteomics from the University of Virginia. She also completed a Management Development Program at UVA's Darden Graduate School of Business Administration. Polefrone is an RYT 500 and RYT 200 certified yoga teacher. She is the current Director of Health Innovation at VCU da Vinci Center Health Innovation Consortium. Previous endeavors of Polefrone include various leadership roles at Philips, including HR strategy and Clinical Marketing and Product Management. She also served as a Director at the Focused Ultrasound Foundation and founded FibroidRelief.org. Polefrone's focus is on boundaryless senior leadership partnering and stakeholder management, small and large-scale meeting and workshop design and facilitation, end-to-end marketing, insights, strategic, upstream, downstream, and product management.
