William T.H. To
William T.H. To is an experienced Program Manager with over 10 years of healthcare experience in strategy, operations, and research. He has a proven track record in managing large-scale, high-capital programs with international stakeholders. William has a passion for healthcare innovation and building world-class research programs.
William managed a $1.54M research program in next-generation genomic technologies and drove over 20 scientific projects during his tenure at the Ontario Institute for Cancer Research. He also managed two leading projects under their flagship Adaptive Oncology program: Heterogeneity in Space and Time ($900K) and a $350K project. William is most proud of his team's acquisition of a first-ever $6M Genome Canada grant in collaboration with biotech giant Thermo Fisher Scientific ($32.2B in revenue in 2020).
Currently, William manages the research portfolio of the UHN Stroke Program, including 10 international clinical trials and grants awarded by the Canadian Institutes of Health Research and the Canadian Stroke Consortium. He studied MBA Business Essentials for Managers at the University of Toronto - Rotman School of Management, High-Performance Collaboration: Leadership, Teamwork, and Negotiation at Northwestern University - Kellogg School of Management, and Management Fundamentals at The Wharton School.
William also studied Leading Change in Health Informatics (EPIC) at The Johns Hopkins University, Machine Learning in Healthcare at Stanford University School of Medicine, and MIT-HMS Healthcare Innovation at Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Harvard Medical School. He completed his undergraduate degree in Bachelor's of Health Sciences (BHSc) at McMaster University and his Master's of Science (MSc), Neuroscience at the University of Toronto.
