Elias Mossialos is an internationally recognized expert in health policy, health services research, and public policy. He is the Brian Abel-Smith Professor of Health Policy and Director of LSE Health at the London School of Economics and Political Science, as well as the Co-Director of the European Observatory on Health Systems and Policies. Mossialos has advised numerous agencies, including the World Health Organization, the European Parliament, and the European Commission, and has also served as a member of the management board of the European Medicines Evaluation Agency.

Mossialos has won numerous awards for his publications on health policy and management, including the European Health Management Association's annual prize in 2002 and 2007. He is a Fellow of the Faculty of Public Health and of the Royal Colleges of Physicians in London and Edinburgh, as well as an Honorary Consultant in Public Health with the South East London NHS Strategic Health Authority. Mossialos is also an Honorary Professor at several universities across Europe, including the University of Copenhagen, Imperial College London, and L'Ecole des Hautes Etudes en Santé Publique in France.

His expertise spans a range of topics related to health policy, financing healthcare, policy-making and politics, and health services research. He has also been involved in numerous committees and organizations related to healthcare, including the Lancet Commission on the Future of the NHS and the International Committee on Organ Transplantation at the ONASSIS Foundation.
