Fern Pessin
Fern Pessin is a manuscript strategist, author, and caregiver mentor, who left her life in New York and moved to Florida to support her parents as they aged. Pessin became overwhelmed by the lack of guidance and support for those caring for their aging parents and thus took it upon herself to attend conferences, become a certified Home Health Aide, interview experts, and create a team of experts to help both her and her siblings navigate the complex legal and medical requirements for securing their parents' well-being. Pessin has written a guidebook for adults caring for their aging parents titled "I'll Be Right There," aimed at removing feelings of overwhelm and supporting families in their caregiving journey. Pessin has also created a second workbook for people wishing to provide information about their own wishes to family and care partners, titled "I'm Not Gonna Live Forever You Know." With a background in event planning and managing, Pessin has worked for various organizations such as the JCC, Stamford Hospital Foundation, and Stamford Symphony. Pessin now speaks and leads workshops for communities, corporations, non-profits, and groups that work with caregivers, helping adults care for aging parents through phone, web, and in-person support.
