Jan Jagers is a dedicated professional with a diverse background and extensive experience in fact-checking, journalism, and academia.

With a Master's degree in Journalism from Erasmushogeschool Brussel and a Ph.D. in political and social science from the University of Antwerp, Jan has a strong educational foundation.

Currently, Jan serves as the lead fact-checker at Knack and holds the position of Managing Director at deCheckers, showcasing his expertise in verifying information and combatting misinformation.

In addition to his corporate roles, Jan has also shared his knowledge as a lecturer at Vrije Universiteit Brussel and Katholieke Hogeschool Kempen.

His experience as a freelance journalist at respected media outlets like Knack, Roularta Media, Fonds Pascal Decroos, and Concentra Media has honed his skills in investigative reporting and storytelling.
