The Hidden Genius Project (HGP) is a nationally recognized nonprofit tech startup that trains and mentors underserved, black male youth in technology creation, entrepreneurship, and leadership skills to transform their lives and communities. Since its inception in 2012, HGP has impacted more than 3,500 black male youth through 100,000 hours of direct training and mentorship.Reporting to the Founding Executive Director, I was responsible for planning and managing all development efforts, including strategic planning, prospecting, grant-writing, crowdfunding, special events, major gifts, cultivation, and stewardship, with an annual fundraising goal of $1,000,000.HIGHLIGHTS: -Developed and implemented the organization’s first comprehensive fundraising strategy, resulting in a 25X increase in annual funds raised ($60,000 in 2014 to $1,500,000 in 2015).-Wrote grant and led organization’s participation in 2015 Google Impact Challenge: Bay Area, including planning and managing a crowd-sourced voting campaign, resulting in an award of $500,000 <a href="http://Google.org">Google.org</a> grant (only 6 Bay Area nonprofits won grant).-Developed and launched the organization’s first individual giving crowdfunding campaign, resulting in $25,000 raised in less than 72 hours and a 12X increase in individual donors.-Planned and executed all aspects of organization’s website redesign, including hosting set-up, auditing, web & graphic design, copywriting, web development, testing, and launch.

Development Director

Reporting to the Director of Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals (CMNH), responsible for leading the fundraising efforts of the Extra Life Gaming Marathon and the RE/MAX Miracle Home Program in addition to assisting the management of a portfolio of thirteen corporate cause-marketing campaigns and events with an annual fundraising goal of $3.4M. HIGHLIGHTS: -Responsible for strategic planning with Director and Senior Director of CMN and Cause Marketing to identify performance goals, priorities, and work processes resulting in increased revenues with a variety of CMN partners. -Led the CMNH Extra Life Gaming Marathon initiative, raising $370K, securing the top fundraising hospital title and increasing participation by 180% over the previous year.-Led the expansion of the CMNH RE/MAX corporate campaign resulting in a 46% increase in funds raised over the previous year.-In collaboration with the Director of CMNH, developed and executed the hospitals first corporate symposium with local and national CMNH partners.

Senior Officer, Children's Miracle Network Hospitals

Reporting to the Director of Children’s Miracle Network, responsible for executing all day-to-day logistics of a portfolio of thirteen corporate cause-marketing campaigns and events with an annual fundraising goal of $3.2M.HIGHLIGHTS: -Successfully led and expanded the Extra Life video game campaign, increasing funds raised by 240% and participation by 340% from the previous year.-Secured top fundraising hospital title for the Extra Life event, resulting in an additional $60K in incentive prize winnings. -Organized and lead tours, lunches, events and other activities involving hospital executive leadership for key corporate partners to deepen their understanding and of the hospitals' mission, values, and community impact.
