The Genuine Dining Co. is an award-winning Contract Caterer based in central London. We are one of the largest independent caterers in the industry. We tailor our services toward our partnerships so that each of our offers are aligned to our client’s sites. Our people are true foodies. We are different because we only work with local suppliers and producers, over 80% of our food is from the UK and we can trace all our produce back to source. Our services include catering for in-house staff restaurants, cafes and specialist hospitality including fine dining. Our teams design menus that enhance meetings and events, tailoring them to our client’s requirements. We operate a production kitchen in Camberwell, allowing us to deliver quality services to clients across London and the UK that have limited kitchen space.

New Partnership Executive

UK Grand Summer Outdoor Café is a campaign started by Alan Lorrimer, founder of The Piano Works, with the aim to safely re-start the UK hospitality industry by transforming public spaces and streets into fabulous al fresco dining spaces whilst adhering to physical distancing.The campaign proposes that seating on pavements, squares and open spaces outside of restaurants and bars be permitted and is calling on the government to issue a directive to grant local authorities a temporary deregulation to allow tables and chairs outside existing hospitality businesses.We aim to raise a lot of money in order to be able to provide vouchers to our front line workers to say a huge thank you for keeping us all safe. These vouchers will be used in our venues either as part of our Grand Summer Outdoor Café or in the venues themselves when it is safe to do so.

While working in the Playwright, I was a full time server and bar tender. I worked 5-6 days a week sometimes on the floor serving tables food and drinks and other times I would be behind the bar.Interacting with customers was a huge part of my job here and I got to meet some extremely interesting and fascinating people. The Playwright has a big upstairs floor which was used for numerous parties and sporting events which I got to play a hand in planning.

I worked here for just over 2 years. I started as a host/front of house for the first 6 months and then moved up to become a waitress.My duties on reception included greeting the customers, checking the booking list daily and having all pre booked tables ready and waiting for the guests arrival. Being able to read the room by filling certain sections with certain tables . (i.e not putting a family with young children beside a couple having an intimate meal). Also keeping an organised waiting list if necessary. As a waitress my duties included interacting with the customers within my section, taking orders, perparing drinks, ensuring the customers are satisfied, preparing desserts and cleaning my section

My time with Groove yard was during the (home played) 6 nations matches in Dublin. Here, I helped prepare the stadium each morning before thousands of spectators arrived. I also participated in the routine that displayed the sponsor (RBS)  flag, while the players were announced and national anthems were sung

I choose to move abroad one summer instead of staying in Dublin and finding a summer job. In Los Arcos, I was lucky enough to be trusted with huge responsibilities, helping to open and close the bar and handle my own section  that consisted for between 13-16 tables each night, in an extremely busy, fast moving bar

Telephone market Research Once a week, a group of us would gather some information from the general public on current affairs going on in Ireland. We would call houses at random, and ask them a series of questions, ( some people were extremely unwilling, so a nice, friendly and charming personality helped them feel like they were just having a usual conversation), our findings were published in The Sunday Independent
