Lian Kwong
Lian Kwong is a dedicated PhD candidate in Biological Oceanography at the University of British Columbia, with a focus on quantifying production and carbon export by zooplankton and micronekton in marine environments.
With a background in Natural Sciences, Marine Biology, and ongoing PhD studies, Lian's research aims to investigate the impacts of climate change on marine ecosystems, particularly the relationship between lower and higher trophic levels.
In addition to academic pursuits, Lian has worked as a tutor/scribe for students with impairments and as an Environmental Consultant, emphasizing accessibility and diversity in science.
Lian's efforts also extend to developing more efficient techniques for assessing the marine environment, with a keen interest in making science inclusive for minorities.
