David Ehinger is a Canadian lawyer and foreign affairs professional with over twenty years of experience in managerial and executive roles at Global Affairs Canada. He has been the Chief of Staff to the Canadian Ambassador in Washington, Head of the Department's Oceans Law Section, as well as Economic and Finance Counsellor at the Canadian Embassy in Berlin, and Canada's Senior Trade Commissioner in Spain. He has also served as Counsellor and Head of the Public Affairs group at the Canadian Embassy in Berlin. David retired from public service in December 2017 and has since been pursuing his interests in art, architecture, music, and history from his base in Munich, Germany. Education-wise, he studied Piano-Performer at The Royal Conservatory of Music, University of Toronto, and has pursued LL.M., LL.B., and M.Phil. degrees in International Law and Relations from the University of Virginia School of Law, University of Manitoba, and the University of Cambridge, respectively. He has also studied Public International Law at The Hague Academy of International Law.
