The Company went through a major restructuring in September 2017, transforming into a solar project developer and operator, a pure downstream player with project pipeline mostly in Europe and North America. We raised over $300 million in 2020 and 2021 to expand our solar pipeline, make acquisitions and enter the storage market.

Martin comes from an artistic and literary family. His father was a noted art collector. Martin is a professional photographer, artist and poet. He specialises in unusual projects.
-  September/October 2007: solo exhibition in a gallery in the Factory 798 area of Beijing.
-  April 2009: appointed The Official Photographer of The Tunnel 228 Underground Installation, a Kevin Spacey and Old Vic project (in association with Punchdrunk). His initial vision on the creation of the project was presented in the 72 page catalogue given free to every visitor.
-  August 2010: joint exhibition with the late Lee Miller at the Lee Miller Archive in Sussex.
-  May/August 2011: solo exhibition at Deutsche Bank in London.

Martin is an investor and Member of the Corporate Advisory Board of Seraphim Space LP, the world’s first venture fund set-up to invest in space-enabled companies, at a time of radical change within the space industry. The fund is focused on the fusion of of terrestrial technology and space capabilities. 

The fund is backed by a range leading corporates from the space industry, and is also supported by the European Space Agency, UK Space Agency and Satellite Applications Catapult.

The Fund invests in both software and hardware New Space opportunities across the ecosystem, including drones and UAVs, and complementary technologies such as the Internet of Things, artificial intelligence, robotics, automation and nanomaterials, and through the generation, enhancement and application of satellite and drone-enabled data.

In July 2021, Seraphim Space agreed to sell its portfolio of investments to Seraphim Space Investment Trust, a newly formed company listed on the London Stock Exchange which raised a further £150 million.

Outcome was a book published by OECD in 1992: Technological Change in the Korean Electronics Industry by Martin D. H. Bloom.
This covered the acquisition of technology by the Korean electronics industry, looking at the different forms of technology acquisition, identifying the sources and rationale for its transfer, and considering the needs for future development. Particular emphasis was placed on the role of Japanese technology and components and the way in which Japanese companies managed this flow.
