Eric Horvitz
Eric Horvitz is a renowned computer scientist and medical doctor who studied at Stanford University. He is a former Technical Fellow and Chief Scientific Officer at Microsoft, where he spent much of his career. He has held several leadership roles at Microsoft Research Labs and has been involved in several advisory boards and committees, including President's Council of Advisors on Science and Technology (PCAST) and Computer Science and Telecommunications Board (CSTB) of the National Academies. He has also been part of the National Security Commission on AI and advised the National Science Foundation (NSF) in its Computer and Information Science and Engineering (CISE) Directorate. At one point, he even served as the President of the Association for the Advancement of AI (AAAI). Eric Horvitz's areas of expertise include artificial intelligence, machine learning, and medical informatics.
