Miguel Dias is a 25-year-old Portuguese engineer and Data Scientist at Vodafone Deutschland. He has a MSc degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the Technical University of Lisbon, where he wrote a thesis on Privacy-Preserving Speech Emotion Recognition. His expertise includes concepts from machine learning and data mining to cryptography and privacy, and he has done extensive research work in speech mining at INESC-ID. Along with two other researchers, he submitted an article to ICASSP 2018 regarding secure machine learning entitled "Exploring Hashing and Cryptonet based Approaches for Privacy-Preserving Speech Emotion Recognition."

Miguel is also an active musician, with a passion for playing the guitar and singing. He is a hardworking, easygoing, and flexible team player, dedicated to learning and developing his skills. In addition to his academic and professional accomplishments, he has done volunteer work in Erasmus Life Lisboa, a non-profit organization that organizes events and trips for international students in Lisbon.
