As the Lead Entrepreneurship & Impact at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam (VU Amsterdam), Erik is dedicated to changing the mindset of knowledge institutions to stay relevant and reinvent themselves.

Erik's impressive background includes co-founding Preneurz at Preneurz.Amsterdam, serving as a member of the Board at Forward Incubator, and founding Startup Village Amsterdam, which is home to more than 35 startups and scale-ups. He was also the Director of ACE (Amsterdam Center for Entrepreneurship), where he set up programs and international partnerships that helped students and researchers start high-impact ventures, and Managing Director of ACE. In addition, Erik was the Director of Marketing Communications at Vrije Universiteit and a Strategist on education and internationalization at Vrije Universiteit and Erasmus University Rotterdam.
