David Whelan

David Whelan is a seasoned professional with a rich background in entrepreneurship and venture capitalism. He has a strong passion for working with both established and up-and-coming entrepreneurs who are focused on developing and expanding disruptive products or services. With an impressive track record that spans various roles, David's experience includes working with Sir Richard Branson's Virgin Group on Virgin America, contributing to the growth of the Accretive portfolio, managing the Oxeon Venture Studio, and founding Town Hall Ventures.

In his current role as the Founder and General Partner of Town Hall Ventures, David leads investments in companies dedicated to enhancing health outcomes for marginalized and underserved communities. His notable investments span a wide range of healthcare companies such as Aetion, Brave Health, Cityblock, Plume, VillageMD, and many others.

David Whelan brings a wealth of academic achievements to his professional journey, having pursued a Doctor of Law (J.D.) from Fordham University School of Law and a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in History and Economics from the University of Virginia. He also received education at Brunswick School.

Prior to his ventures in entrepreneurship and venture capitalism, David honed his legal expertise at Simpson Thacher & Bartlett LLP, where he held positions as a Partner, Associate, Summer Associate, and Corporate Paralegal.
