David Trinkle

David Trinkle is a seasoned professional with a strong background in research development, budgeting, and policy. Currently serving as the Director of Research Development at UC Berkeley, he specializes in advancing and facilitating funding for cutting-edge research endeavors. With a wealth of experience in government, academia, and federally funded research centers, David manages a dedicated team of research development staff at Berkeley. He provides strategic funding guidance to the Vice Chancellor for Research, deans, and faculty, supports research initiatives, identifies emerging opportunities, and helps overcome obstacles.

David's educational journey includes a Ph.D. in Public Policy Analysis from Pardee RAND Graduate School, an M.S. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Southern California, and a B.S. in Systems and Control Engineering from the University of California, San Diego. This diverse educational background equips him with a broad perspective that he brings to his work in research and policy development.
