David Stout, Vice President of Managed Services at SMX

David Stout is currently serving as the Vice President of Managed Services at SMX, a position he has held since April 2022. Based in Herndon, Virginia, he is responsible for delivering leadership in the definition and execution of new advanced service offerings, providing technical and operational support to FedRAMP Moderate, FedRAMP High, and DoD IL4/5 regulated environments, and managing the profit and loss for Smartronix Cloud MSP and MSSP businesses.1

Some of his key contributions at SMX include:

• Delivering and facilitating transformative cloud solutions across the globe for Fortune 500, DoD, Federal, State, and NPOs by coaching and mentoring a diverse team of 50+ cloud engineers1
• Successfully implementing and creating an SRE team within managed services to drive automation and scalability of core managed services offerings1
• Achieving a 20% increase in gross margins by optimizing operational efficiencies1
• Providing directional leadership in multiple successful Cloud MSP and compliance audits, such as AWS MSP, Azure Expert MSP, ISO 2700, and ISO 20K1
• Steering efforts to define the processes, tools, and methods, including developing associated systems utilized in Private and Public clouds (AWS, Azure, and others) to support enterprise adoption of cloud service offerings while leading the Smartronix cloud managed services operations team1

Prior to his current role, David Stout served as the Director of Cloud Managed Services at SMX from August 2019 to April 2022.1 He has also held positions at Daston Corporation as the Technical Director of the SaaS Practice and at Envision Experience as the Senior Director of Business Applications.1
