David Simchi-Levi
David Simchi-Levi is a Professor of Engineering Systems at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). He is considered one of the premier thought leaders in supply chain management and business analytics.12
Education
Simchi-Levi obtained his B.Sc. in Aeronautical Engineering from Technion Israel Institute of Technology in 1978. He earned M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees in Operations Research from Tel Aviv University in 1984 and 1987 respectively.1
Career
Simchi-Levi has held academic positions at Tel Aviv University, Columbia University, Northwestern University, and MIT. He is the founder or co-founder of several companies, including LogicTools, OPS Rules, and Opalytics.123
Research
Simchi-Levi's research focuses on supply chain management, revenue management, and business analytics. He has published extensively in academic journals and co-authored the book "Designing & Managing the Supply Chain".13
Awards and Recognition
Simchi-Levi has received numerous awards and honors, including:
- Elected to the 2006 class of Fellows of the Institute for Operations Research and the Management Sciences (INFORMS)1
