David Sauls

David Sauls is a seasoned geotechnical engineer specializing in providing geotechnical engineering solutions for design and construction on Gulf Coast soils.

David has a strong background in analyzing soil behavior to mitigate potential risks and design foundations for various projects including industrial plants, transportation infrastructure, and municipal facilities.

His expertise in geotechnical work for pipelines encompasses trenchless obstacle crossing designs, US Army Corps of Engineers levees, and foundations for compressor and meter stations.

David Sauls currently leads the South Business Unit offices, overseeing a range of earth science and applied technology projects.

Previously associated with Louis J. Capozzoli & Associates, Inc. Geotechnical Engineers until 2007, he has a wealth of experience in the field.

His specialties include pipelines, horizontal directional drilling (HDD), trenchless technology, levee crossings, hydraulic fracture analysis, slope stability, piling, foundation settlement, dams, pile driving, shallow foundations, construction vibrations, coastal engineering, marsh creation, shoreline restoration, and forensic evaluations.

David pursued his education in Civil Engineering, earning a BS from Louisiana State University and an MS from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

He has held various key positions in reputable organizations such as GeoEngineers, Louis J. Capozzoli & Associates, Inc., Fugro McClelland, Inc., McClelland Engineers, Inc., and Brian Watt Associates, Inc.
