David Ross
David Ross, a well-known art museum curator and director with over 35 years of experience, is now the chair of the MFA program in Art Practice at the School of Visual Arts in New York City. With a passion for working directly with young artists, Ross is also the lead guitarist and vocalist for his band, Breakneck Ridge Revue, and an active board member of the American Center for Folk Music.
Ross has an extensive education, having studied at Syracuse University in New York State and obtained a Bachelor of Science in Communications. He has held numerous leadership positions in the art world, including director of the Whitney Museum of American Art, the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, and the Institute of Contemporary Art, Boston. Ross has also served as a trustee of the Studio Museum in Harlem, as well as a member of Fondazione CRT's committee scientifico.
Along with his past titles, Ross has held positions on several boards, including MutualArt and Rhizome, and was president and co-founder of Artist Pension Trust. With a diverse range of experiences and accolades, Ross is a distinguished leader in the art world.
