David Rodgers

David Rodgers is the Vice President of Economic Development at the Mobile Area Chamber of Commerce, a position he has held since 2018 after joining the Economic Development Department in January 2015. In his role, he manages various aspects of economic development, including industrial recruitment, international trade, foreign direct investment, workforce development, and talent attraction. Under his leadership, the department has announced the creation of over 4,500 direct jobs and facilitated more than $3.5 billion in new investments in the Mobile community.14

Rodgers has a strong educational background, having completed the University of Alabama's Economic Honors Program and the Economic Development Institute at the University of Oklahoma. In 2022, he earned the Certified Economic Developer (CEcD) designation, which is considered the highest certification for economic development professionals. He is also actively involved in several boards, including the South Alabama Regional Planning Commission and the South Alabama Workforce Development Council, where he serves as Chairman.13

Born and raised in Mobile, Rodgers attended the University of Southern Mississippi. He and his wife, Lauren, have two young sons.12
