David Rak

David Rak is the Associate General Counsel at Airbnb, where he leads a team of legal professionals providing product, commercial, and sales counsel across Airbnb's accommodations marketplace. His work focuses on supporting professional hosts, luxury offerings, and global business operations. He has played a key role in Airbnb's largest acquisitions, product launches, and regulatory compliance efforts, including areas like consumer protection, privacy (e.g., GDPR), and security.12

Before joining Airbnb in 2019, Rak held senior legal roles at Apple, where he served as global Product Counsel for iCloud and worked on data localization and privacy issues. He also has experience as a corporate strategist and legal advisor at various organizations, including Baker & McKenzie LLP and Constellation Energy Group.2

Rak earned his JD (cum laude) in Corporate and International Law from the American University Washington College of Law and an A.B. (cum laude) in Economics and Political Science from Duke University.2
