Dave Powell

David Powell is the Senior Development Director at Novis Renewables, a position he has held since January 2022. Based in Boulder, Colorado, he is responsible for developing utility-scale solar projects primarily across the Western United States. His role involves overseeing all phases of project development to Notice to Proceed (NTP), strategizing the development pipeline for both Greenfield and M&A opportunities, and leading a team focused on integrating energy storage into photovoltaic (PV) solutions. Powell also conducts due diligence on projects, assessing various constraints including environmental, financial, and permitting issues.12

Prior to joining Novis Renewables, Powell served as Development Director at Lightsource BP, where he led the development of significant solar projects across the U.S. He has extensive experience in the solar industry, having also worked with Solaris Strategy Group and Hm Renewable Energy, among others. His background includes a strong technical expertise that enhances his effectiveness in development roles within the renewable energy sector.1
