I lead engineering for the Developer Platform org at Stripe. Our teams strive to create a world class API and developer platform for Stripe’s users. We're hiring across all of our groups / focus areas:

- API Platform: build the product infrastructure for Stripe's API and ensure its reliability and scalability.

- Developer User Experience: build our user facing developer products, dashboards, SDKs, CLI, and API integration testing tools.

- Tailor: build a greenfield developer product for Stripe’s users to enable them to tailor their API and Dashboard experience.

Head of Developer Platform Engineering

- Worked on shared back-end services for the Core Services team, primarily in Clojure. 
- Developed service to store and query purchase history for consumers. 
- Developed service to assign and track visitor ids for livingsocial.com traffic.
- Designed internal APIs, autogenerated swagger docs, Kafka data streams, CI/CD processes, logging systems, and integration with error reporting and analytics services.
- Contributed to several internal libraries (instrumentation, ODMs)

LivingSocial

Senior Software Engineer

PaddleGuru is a platform to manage athletic events for paddle-sports (stand up paddleboard, kayak, canoe, surfski, and more). We provide event registration, payment, timing and results. PaddleGuru serves 400+ races and tens of thousands of paddlers annually.

Architected the platform and developed core features. Tech stack: Clojure web app, CouchDB, Redis, various AWS products, and Clojurescript with React. We support our event organizers using Stripe Connect.

We also operate RaceHub, a race management web app for use with any sport. Expands upon PaddleGuru's feature set with extensive Facebook integrations and tagged race photography. Created pub/sub dispatcher to update data for React.js (Om), and  developed WebSocket based API for client-side routing.

Co-Founder, Software Engineer

I worked on a variety of software projects during this time - highlights included:

-World Resources Institute:
Developed pubsub dispatch system for the Global Forest Watch API, and contributed to machine learning platform designed to predict whether a given parcel of land is deforested.

-REDD Metrics, LLC: 
Contributed to Forest Monitoring for Action, an app that provides forest clearing alerts by applying a supervised machine learning algorithm to large sets of time series data. Optimized their MapReduce operations to achieve significant (25%) speed gains for Hadoop jobs.

-ThinkFun:
Co-lead engineer on 'RushHour' iPhone app, downloaded 1+ million times. Developed data model for SQLite data persistence, and designed multiplayer functionality. Consultant on the ThinkFun BrainLab project.

Software Engineer

Performed systems analysis for the US ballistic missile defense system in a classified environment. Designed Monte Carlo simulations in MATLAB to analyze sensor performance.
