David Muir, Jr.

David Muir is the owner of Footprints Floors in Fairfax, Virginia. His journey to franchising began after a diverse career, which included serving as a machine gunner in the Virginia National Guard and working in various roles such as a physical education teacher and chef. He transitioned to the franchise model after realizing that he wanted more time with his family, particularly to support his son with Down syndrome.136

Muir's decision to join Footprints Floors was influenced by his desire for a business model that would allow him greater work-life balance and the ability to build meaningful customer relationships without being tied down by excessive administrative tasks. He was drawn to Footprints Floors due to its strong support system for franchisees, as well as its commitment to quality and integrity in service delivery.124

In addition to his entrepreneurial pursuits, Muir has a background in advocating for veterans, having previously run a program for the Veteran Staffing Network. His experience in this area has equipped him with insights into the challenges faced by veterans transitioning into civilian careers, making him a passionate advocate for franchising as a viable option for veterans.35
