    David Mendez, currently based in Amsterdam, is the Managing Director for Techstars/Arcadis City of 2030, where he concentrates on smart city and infrastructure technologies. He is also involved in venture capitalism and has achieved a major success with the acquisition of Small Giant Games by Zynga for $700M.

    In addition to his current role, David has a background in venture capital with positions such as Partner at Butterfly Ventures and Managing Director at Katalyst Venture Partners. He is a venture partner for CapA and Good Growth Capital, firms he has been actively involved in co-founding.

    Before his ventures in CapA and Butterfly, David Mendez founded DPM Resources, a firm specializing in operations advisory and investments for tech-based businesses. His experience includes corporate development, capital raising, M&A, and business development for small to medium-sized enterprises.

    With a solid foundation in the tech industry, David co-founded and successfully exited Supplybase.inc, a VC-backed B2B supply chain software company in 2000. This success led him to his initial foray into venture capital when he joined Katalyst in New York City.

    During the early stages of his career, spanning a decade, David held operational roles with prominent companies like GE, DuPont, and Conoco in the United States and the United Kingdom.

    Previously, he served as the Managing Partner at Capital A Partners.
