David Hicks

David Hicks is a seasoned professional currently serving as the Vice President of Business Development at Indeck Energy Services, Inc. in Buffalo Grove, Illinois.

With a background enriched with experience in the energy sector, David played a crucial role in the successful development and financing of the Indeck Niles Energy Center, a noteworthy gas-fired combined cycle power project.

His expertise spans various aspects of project development including strategic market assessment, technology selection, site selection, transmission interconnection, early to mid-stage project development, and public relations among others.

David's career journey showcases his involvement in diverse electric power generation projects across different technological landscapes, previously working with both independent power companies and regulated electric utilities.

Currently, David is spearheading the development of utility scale, hybrid solar plus storage projects in the continental United States, with a flagship project featuring a 275 MW solar field coupled with a 135MW/540 MWh BESS on a vast 1,500 acre site.

David Hicks holds a Master's degree in Economics from the University of California - Santa Barbara and a Bachelor's degree in Economics from the University of Hawaii at Manoa.

Prior to his current role, David held significant positions at esteemed organizations such as Diamond Generating Corporation, NV Energy, Florida Power & Light (FPL), GPU International, MRW & Associates, and the California Public Utilities Commission.
