David Hanzel
David Hanzel is a versatile professional with a background in biology and a passion for working with entrepreneurs to tackle technical challenges in vast markets.
With a Ph.D. in Physiology from the University of California, Berkeley, post-doc studies in Cell Biology at Cornell University, and a B.A. in Physiology from the same alma mater, David brings a solid academic foundation to his work.
His expertise spans a wide range of areas including scientific management, cell/molecular/synthetic biology, physiology, chemistry, instrumentation, imaging, software, clinical studies, product marketing, and intellectual property.
Having held roles in various organizations such as PRAV Biosciences, David is currently focused on fundraising for a novel pan-respiratory antiviral therapeutic.
His past experiences include positions like President & Chief Operating Officer at Metabiomics, VP Marketing at Pacific Biosciences, and CSO at Naked Biome, showcasing his diverse skill set and leadership capabilities.
David's career has also seen him contribute as a Partner at X/Seed Capital Management, Director of Intellectual Property at Aeomica, and as a Principal Scientist at Molecular Dynamics / Amersham / General Electric Healthcare.
His entrepreneurial spirit led him to establish David Hanzel Consulting, where he offered his expertise on a variety of projects, and also served as a Consulting Scout at Alcon Seed Fund.
