David Boan
Director, Department of Relief and Development at World Evangelical Alliance
David Boan is a psychologist, community researcher, educator, and consultant with more than four decades of experience. He studied his PhD in Biola University, M.A at Rosemead Graduate School of Psychology, and his BA at Washington College. Boan served as the Director of the Department of Relief and Development at the World Evangelical Alliance and previously worked as the Adjunct Professor of Psychology at Northwest Nazarene University. Additionally, he has served as the President at International Community Research, Inc and Co-Director and Associate Professor at The Humanitarian Disaster Institute at Wheaton College.
Boan's current role with WEA revolves around his efforts to improve the capacity of various regional and national alliances and empower local faith communities towards humanitarian action. He focuses primarily on developing Global South networks for community development. His experience in executive management roles has prepared him well for his current position. He has also worked at Delmarva Foundation, Joint Commission Resources, and Quality Science International.
