David Bindel
David Bindel is a Professor of Computer Science at Cornell University.35 He is also the Director of the Center for Applied Math and the Director of the Simons Collaboration on Hidden Symmetries and Fusion Energy.5
Bindel received a Ph.D. in computer science from UC Berkeley in 2006.14 From 2006 to 2009, he was a Courant Instructor of Mathematics at NYU.146 In 2009, he joined the computer science department at Cornell.47 His research interests include numerical linear algebra and computational mechanics, with applications to the design of microelectromechanical systems, computer network tomography, and analysis of social networks.4 Much of his work involves linear algebra, with a common theme of structure derived from geometry, algebraic properties, or analytic properties.2
