David Barnard

David Barnard is the founder and sole employee of Contrast, previously known as App Cubby. Despite not being a designer or developer, he is deeply involved in all aspects of app development, from accounting and marketing to art direction and QA testing. Prior to transitioning to software development, David had a background as an audio engineer, spending years in a recording studio. He approaches guiding the development process akin to a producer working with musicians to create an album. David has a long history of building apps for the iPhone, with his initial app, Trip Cubby, launching in August 2008. Over the years, he has worked with a talented team to continually refine and evolve his apps. Additionally, David is known for his writing and speaking engagements on app development and the App Store ecosystem. His apps have amassed millions of downloads and earned prominent features on platforms like Apple and various renowned tech and lifestyle websites, including MacStories, NY Times, CNN, The Wall Street Journal, Wired, GQ, CNET, TechCrunch, and more. He has also made appearances on CNBC.
